2018 Annual Musicians Blessing Sept 18th

Cathedral of Saint Andrew

Bishop David Walkowiak, Presiding

The musicians of all Grand Rapids parishes are encouraged to participate in this evening prayer of renewal and recommitment to our ministry. It takes place in the context of sung Evening Prayer, with a renewal of our commitment to service following the homily. Of course, the singing is overwhelming! A sumptuous reception on the plaza follows the service.

ANNUAL DIOCESAN MUSICIAN'S BLESSING

Music Directors • Pastors • Organists • Guitarists • Pianists • Instrumentalists • Cantors • Choir Directors and Choir Singers • Music Coordinators • Music Librarians and Secretaries • Handbell Ringers • Folks who love to sing . . . . from all the parishes of our diocese.

More than 300 of us annually renew our commitment to the liturgical music ministry.  In the context of the Church's sung Evening Prayer, Bishop Walkowiak will call upon all pastoral musicians of the Diocese to serve faithfully in the liturgical ministry of their parishes for the coming year. And the singing will be glorious!

The 40 minute service is followed by a reception on the Cathedral Plaza. The free-will offering taken up at the exit benefits the NPM Student Inititative which pays the national and local membership fees for students pursuing the ministry of music.

Guests are welcome.
